The Full Medical Examination process for applying a long-term visit pass is as follows.

1.Registration

The passport of permanent resident applicant needs to be presented along with the In-Principle Approval Form and Medical Form. Then payment needs to be done by cash or net banking by the PR applicant. The applicant will then be asked to wait for the registration process to complete.

The front-desk staff will register the PR applicant in clinic system and take a print-out of applicant’s receipt and name labels. The In-Principle Approval form and Passport submitted earlier will then be returned to the applicant. Finally, the applicant will be directed to Measurements Station where a nurse will take charge of the further processes to be done.

2.Measurements

At the measurements station, a nurse will check the medical requirements of the applicant necessary by the pass he/she is applying for. Then the applicant will undergo medical check-up either by the doctor or by the nurse under doctor’s supervision.

After the medical check and measurements, the applicant has to sign the PR applicant record form, having measurement details and check-up report that will be kept by the clinic. Female applicants need to declare if they are pregnant. In case they are, X-ray can only be done after delivery.

During the whole process of taking measurements and health check-up, our full-time doctor will do the process himself/herself and/or supervise the nurse carrying out the activities in order to ensure quality assurance. After the check-up and signing of medical forms, the PR applicant will proceed for chest X-ray. The applicant also has to take the HIV blood test.

3.X-Ray Imaging

At the X-ray imaging station, inside the X-ray room, the radiographer will ask the applicant to remove his shirt and position him properly to take the X-ray image. If the applicant is a female, she will be asked to remove her top and bra and change to our X-ray gown in a female changing room. After she changed to gown, the radiographer will position her properly inside the X-ray room to take the image.

The applicants need to have their lungs filled with air in order to take the X-ray image correctly. So, the radiographer will ask them to hold their breath before taking the image.

Taking X-ray image is a matter of few seconds after that applicant can change back to their  own clothes and proceed for the blood taking station that is the final station.

4.Blood Taking

In this final station, applicants will go for blood test for HIV. Blood will be taken by our experienced nurse and certified phlebotomist trainer of age 20 years or above. The process will be of less than a minute with almost no pain. For applicants having a very weak blood flow or extremely tiny veins, the process may take a little longer.

The nurse will put a plaster on the blood drawn area after blood is taken. Applicant needs to apply a little pressure on it for about 5 minutes prior to removing the plaster. After completing the whole process of medical check-up, the PR applicant can leave the clinic.
