The scan itself takes 5-15 minutes. Including preparation, positioning, and post-scan observation, allow 30-45 minutes at the imaging centre. Results return in 3-7 working days from the partner radiologist.

Contrast (iodinated dye injected into a vein) helps visualise blood vessels, organs, and tumours. Required for CTA (angiogram) and common for abdomen, pelvis, and multi-phase organ scans. Your GP and the imaging partner determine the need at referral. Contrast may not be suitable for everyone. Yes. Partner imaging centres provide a radiologist report. You return to Mediway for a follow-up consultation where the GP explains findings in plain language, flags anything needing action, and coordinates next steps, including specialist referral if appropriate.

Coverage varies by policy. CT ordered for symptom investigation is typically covered; screening CT (e.g. lung screening without symptoms) may not be. We provide itemised receipts for insurance submission.
