How much is a GP consultation at Mediway Medical?
Consultation is $38 per visit at Mediway Medical Centre. Medication, if prescribed, is charged at cost and quoted before dispensing. Medical certificate (MC) is included where medically indicated, with no additional charge. Basic in-clinic tests (urine dip, rapid tests) are charged separately. All prices are GST-inclusive.
What a general consultation covers
A 15-20 minute consultation with our GP, including history review, physical examination, diagnosis where possible, prescription or treatment plan, and medical certificate if medically indicated. Most primary care needs are addressed in a single visit; complex cases are referred to the right specialist with a clear summary.
Our doctors manage the full range of primary care presentations, from acute flu and skin conditions to chronic disease monitoring and travel consultations. We also handle health screening follow-ups, result interpretation, and repeat prescriptions.
You might book a general consultation for:
- Acute illness: fever, cough, flu, sore throat, stomach upset, urinary tract infections
- Skin problems: rashes, acne, eczema, fungal infections, minor wounds
- Chronic disease monitoring: hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol (repeat prescriptions, BP checks, HbA1c reviews)
- Minor injuries: sprains, cuts, bruises, burns that do not require A&E
- Travel consultations: pre-trip vaccinations, malaria advice, traveller's diarrhoea prevention
- Women's and men's primary care: menstrual concerns, contraception advice, basic sexual health
- Mental health screening: initial assessment of stress, anxiety, low mood (specialist referral as needed)
- Vaccination: flu shots, travel vaccines, catch-up immunisation
- Medical certificate (MC) issuance where medically indicated
- Referral letters to specialists

Frequently asked questions
01 How much is a GP consultation at Mediway?
Consultation is $38 per visit. Medication, if prescribed, is charged separately and quoted before dispensing. A medical certificate (MC) may be issued where medically indicated and is included in the consultation fee. Basic in-clinic tests, such as urine or rapid tests, are charged separately. All prices are GST-inclusive and subject to change.
02 Do I need an appointment or can I walk in?
Both walk-ins and appointments are available at Mediway. You may walk in during clinic hours: Mon-Fri 7:30am-6pm and Sat 7:30am-1pm. For planned visits, you may contact us by WhatsApp or use the online booking form to arrange a visit.
03 Will I get a medical certificate (MC) if needed?
Yes. A medical certificate (MC) may be issued for an appropriate duration when medically indicated, such as for acute illness, injury, or an infectious condition requiring rest. MC issuance is included in the $38 consultation fee when clinically appropriate.
04 What conditions can a GP at Mediway treat?
Common GP concerns include respiratory infections such as cough, flu, or sore throat; gastrointestinal symptoms such as reflux, stomach discomfort, or diarrhoea; skin concerns such as eczema, acne, or fungal infections; minor injuries; urinary symptoms; chronic disease reviews; travel health advice; and general wellness checks. Complex or specialist conditions may be referred to the appropriate specialist.
05 Can I get a prescription at a GP consultation?
Yes. Prescriptions may be issued where clinically appropriate after the doctor's assessment. Medication is typically dispensed on-site, with fees quoted before dispensing. Common categories include antibiotics, pain relief, allergy medication, and basic chronic disease medications. Certain medicines may not be suitable for every patient and are prescribed based on clinical need and Singapore MOH regulations.
06 Do you accept insurance?
We accept payment via cash, NETS, and most major credit cards. For insurance-covered visits, we can provide itemised receipts for submission to your insurer. Some corporate or panel arrangements may be available. Please confirm with our reception before your visit.
07 What should I bring to my GP visit?
Bring your NRIC or passport for identification, any existing medication or medication list, relevant past medical records if available, and your insurance card if applicable. If you have recent blood test or scan results, bring those too. They may help the doctor make a more informed assessment.
08 How long does a GP consultation take?
Typical consultation is 15-20 minutes, depending on your concern. Simple acute issues may be shorter; multiple symptoms, chronic disease reviews, or medical documentation may take longer. Walk-in waiting time varies depending on clinic load on the day.
09 Do you offer follow-up visits?
Yes. For acute conditions, follow-up visits are typically the same $38 consultation fee. For ongoing care (chronic disease monitoring, repeat prescriptions), we arrange regular review visits at standard consultation fees.
10 When should I see a specialist instead of a GP?
A GP is a suitable starting point for many health concerns. Your Mediway doctor may refer you to a specialist if your condition requires specialised investigation or treatment, such as complex heart, neurological, fertility, skin, or surgical concerns. We can provide a referral letter where appropriate.
Specialist services at Mediway
Beyond general consultation, we offer dedicated services for specific health concerns. Your GP can refer you internally if a specialist service is more appropriate.
